There is a Step by Step guide.

1. Open the invitation mail.

2. Click on the Click on the "Learn more about Google+" button

3. A new window will be open with Google Plus sign up page.
4. Type your name and select your gender and click submit.
5. It will be ask for log in with your Picasa web album. no matter you create it or not it will be make it by default if you choose yes join Picasa web album.

6. Every thing is done now.
7. Now you can change your profile picture and allot of things.
